About IQAC

As per the UGC and NAAC guidelines, the Internal QualityAssurance Cell (IQAC) has been established in the college in 2012. The qualitysustenance of higher education institutions is an important aspect. The qualityis sustained in terms of evaluation, assessment, and accreditation. Quality enhancement is a continuous process, theIQAC plays an important role in enhancing the quality and it is a part of theinstitution’s system & works towards the realization of the goals. IQACaims to develop a smooth system for sensible, continuous, reliable andcatalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of theinstitution. The IQAC works for the development of quality culture, it alsomonitors the enhancement of various activities of the institution and alsoensures coordination among various departments, and creates a dynamic systemfor quality changes in the institute.

Vision of IQAC

IQAC facilitate and contribute –

·       To ensure quality culture as the prime concern ofthe institute through institutionalizing and internalizing all the initiativestaken with internal and external support.

·       To the enhancement and integration among thevarious activities of the institution.

·       To create better internal communication.

·       To develop a sense of social responsibility amongstudents through extension activities.

Functions of IQAC

·       Development of quality benchmarks

·       Design and development of annual action plan for institution-levelactivities for quality enhancement.

·       Design and development of departmental academic calendar withthe co-ordination of departments.

·       To develop a system to collect Feedback from the stakeholders(students, staff, alumni and employers), analyse the feedback, present it infront of the committee, take necessary action and produce action taken report onthe feedback.

·       To organize and prepare the SWOC analysis.

·       To develop student-centric environment in the institute.

·       To prepare and submit Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR).

·       Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative audits timelyand its follow up.

·       Organization of workshops, Seminars for students and faculty onquality related themes personality development, time management etc.

·       To promote research culture in the institute and to organizeworkshops on improving research practices and skills of the faculty.

·       Preparing strategy to create industry academia linkage. Forthis, IQAC prepare proposals for the infrastructural development and put infront of the committee.

·       Act as nodal unit for augmenting quality related activities byconducting orientation programs, mentor-mentee classes, parents teachers’meetings, peer teachings etc.

 

Strategies of IQAC

IQAC evolves mechanisms and proceduresfor-

·       Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance ofacademic, administrative and financial tasks

·       The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes

·       Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes forvarious sections of society

·       Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching andlearning

·       The credibility of evaluation procedures

·       Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of thesupport structure and services

·       Ensure heightened level of clarity and focus in institutionalfunctioning towards quality enhancement.

·       Ensure enhancement and coordination among various activities ofthe institution and institutionalize all good practices.

·       Act as a dynamic system for quality changes in HEIs.

·       Build an organised methodology of documentation and internalcommunication.

 

Composition of IQAC

As per the guidelines of NAAC the composition of theIQAC is outlined below:

·       Chairperson:Head of the Institution

·       Afew Senior Administrative Officers

·       Threeto eight Teachers

·       Onemember from the Management, for example Member of the Executive Council of theUniversity

·       One/twonominees from Local Society, Students and Alumni

·       One/twonominees from Employers /Industrialists/Stakeholders

·       Oneof the Senior Teachers as the Coordinator/Director of the IQAC
